DESCRIPTION
For MTB carbon rims, strength should be top priority which is essential for riders’ safety and good cycling experience.
XT-T18/24 ( Asymmetric Design mtb 29er) carbon rims are made from premium Toray T700+T800 carbon fiber which is the basis to make high strength mtb carbon rims.
In addition, we optimize rim lay-up design, eliminate excessive materials to save weight, and add extra materials around spoke hole area for reinforcement.
Thus, our MTB carbon rims are light weight, but still strong and durable.

Asymmetric design helps to make wheelset with more even spoke tension between drive side and non-drive side. On the one hand, it makes wheelset stiffer since the spoke tension on non-drive side can be higher (than regular carbon wheels built with symmetric rims). On the other hand, the closer spoke tension between two sides make the wheelset more difficult to get loose after long time of use, which means less maintenance is needed.

ERD*
Effective Rim Diameter (ERD) is the maximum distance that spokes need to bridge going from one end of the rim to another. How do we calculate the ERD of our rims? The corresponding equation and a drawing is as shown:
ERD=OD-(rim depth)*2+(rim thickness)*2
For example:
ERD of PAD930-XC rim=633mm-22mm*2+3mm*2=595mm
Most people prefer ERD including the length of the nipple cap. However, customers may use different nipples and components for building. Please add the height of the nipple cap(2.5mm~3mm generally) for your spoke calculation. If the height of the nipple cap is 3mm, then ERD of your PAD930-XC rim is 595mm+3mm*2=601mm
